[ NOTE: For people the next subject helps to make a distinction.
As well, I’m not suggesting I’m competing with anyone.]

The subjects are: competition and war.
In USA, competitions can be fully friendly. Friendly competitions are (ABC order) baseball, basketball, football, racing, running, soccer, swimming, and the Olympics, etc.

What makes a difference between competition and war, are that:
A competition has rules, is legal, also it preserves morality and friendship.
A war has no rules, is not legal, and it discards morality and friendship.
Wars want no fun, and aims to damage.
Competitions want fun, and aims for vitality.

For example, if you bring actual swords to a basketball game, that’s when the rules are broken and it becomes a war of unfriendly and immoral practices.
All the fun is gone when people get hurt.
In war, prime practices include to hurt people to accomplish a main goal.
In competition, prime practices include to help people (friendship or teamwork) to accomplish a main goal.
A man can know the difference between the 2 by asking: Does the competing directly hurt someone? Or, does the competing singly accomplish a goal?
The first is war. The second is competition.
A friendly goal for basketball is = get the ball into the hoop.
Can you reach an objective in a friendly way?

Competition is each person’s pure struggle to reach an objective;
It’s friendly motivation under the barrage of varied offenses with a serious objective to overcome an obstacle.
It’s structured by rules within a bounded area to make it friendly and safe, and measurable.
If true friendly harmony exists, it strengthens each friend.
An expression goes: “Survival of the fittest.”
Nature made Fighting and fleeing as basics tools to survive. For humanity, the objective of fighting is a tool to survive, to help people in scarcity, or in survival is a means to secure a resource for a sure future. The Olympics is to keep each nation strong overall to secure the future.

Competition =
Play by Rules, Legality, Morality, and Friendship + Survival tool + Achieve a Goal.
